Default difference between Fedora and Enterprise basic - 08-29-2005 , 06:21 PM

Is there a huge difference between Fedora 4 and Enterprise basic?
I finally got ahold of UniVerse 10.1.12 workgroup edition but it is only
supported on Suse and RedHAt Enterprise. I was just wondering if it is
going to work on Fedora. I will eventually want to get Enterprise Edition
but wanted to just do some testing on Fedora first. I know that free trial
version works ok on Fedora.
What do you think?

Mike

I think you should work with a supported platform if this is a
production system. FC is bleeding edge and unpredictable, which is
why it's not supported by the DBMS providers. If you don't want to
buy RHEL, use CentOS. It's a great platform that's functionally
equivalent to the "upstream vendor" distro - and it's completely free
with good and frequent updates.
