Default Data import to QM - 07-19-2005 , 04:41 AM

I've worked out how to create a filesave on D3 that QM will import, but
after about 6 files it failed with the message
"00000975 Error 8008 writing record in $accrst"
Similarly when importing from a t-dump of a file it failed with
"00000B12 Error 8008 writing record in $accrst"

Anyone know what this means?
I'm using a "personal" license on a windows XP pro machine.
Thanks for any advice.

This is a little off topic but:

This shouldn't take any 'working out' the import/export and
save/restore functions were written to use an R83 compatible
tape image. Would you mind sharing what needed to be worked
out? I will look into fixing it.

As helios answered, this is a limitation of the personal version.
If you have an old machine (or an extra hard drive), you might
want to install Debian and download the GPL version of openQM.

The 2.2.0 version doesn't have the full compliment of tape
functions but you can download these from:

Give it a whirl, works _very_ well under Linux.

Thanks for the advice Helios & Tom.
With D3nt the account save header is different for an FSI account to an
account save from the VME.
Only an account saved from a VME account would load into QM.
Would I be right in assuming then that QM works 'better' under Linux
then? If so is Debian the preffered version or will any do?

And I forgot to mention this: The save/restore functions in openQM were
designed for an 'R83 compatible' save from D3 - this means with the (c
option.

Also, the PICK 500 byte block size is used. D3 uses this block size
when the device is a pseudo floppy (disk file). It you had set up the
device as a compressed device, you must uncompress the image first.

I think that openQM works fine under Windows. My prejudice in general
is to use one of the *nix's.

Debian is also my preferred Linux distribution for stability and ease
of use.

On the other hand, you might want to consider buying the fully
supported commercial product. The low cost will probably pay for itself
before you have finished spending your time building an open source
version.
