Default D3 on Wireless Network - 10-22-2003 , 06:34 AM

Can anybody recommend (or advise against) suitable wireless equipment
to use for a network where D3/NT is also present. Apparently RD has a
notice out against certain equipment, because when it is used, the VME
keeps rebooting itself. I'm a bit mystified (and clearly ignorant in
this respect), as I've always understood D3 to be a bus stop on the
network, and if it serves TCPIP, D3/NT should be OK with it. It would
appear such is not the case. So, if you have practical experience with
a wireless network where D3/NT is happy, please comment.

I have wireless throughout our manufacturing plant and have had no
problems with D3-NT. At the moment I am still on 7.2, ymmv if you
are on a different release. All of my access points are Compaq 802.11b.
We have several RF barcode scanners, some PDAs and some laptop
computers that all have access to D3 via the wireless segment and no
problems with the VME.

Hi

If you have PDAs, you can enjoy a terminal emulation from PocketWinnix.
Have you ever looked at the new e800 Toshiba which has a VGA resolution?

You can download a free evaluation software of PockerWinnix (or WinnixCE) at
www.winnix.com
