Default D3 Proplus Printer Problem - 03-23-2006 , 01:12 PM

I have D3 Proplus 7.2.0 and had to reload my server. After reloading I
setup a printer using PRINTER-SETUP and choose to have the printer
start up on coldstart. When I submitted my first print job it did not
print. I went into the PRINTER-SETUP and viewed my printer and it was
there. We attempted to delete the printer and it said it didn't
exists. Can somebody please help me.

Thanks,
Walter

When you say you had to reload your server, do you mean you had to reinstall d3? What type of printer are you having trouble with? is it serial, parallel or networked? Could you show us a copy of your user-coldstart procedure?

Have you spoken to Raining Data? or are you off contract?

If you cut and paste an "SP-STATUS" here it may help.

Yes I had to reload D3. It is a parallel printer connected to the
server. My user-coldstart looks like:

USER-COLDSTART
001 N
002 SET-BAUD 1,19200

When I do a SP-STATUS I get the following results:

:SP-STATUS

The spooler is inactive.

Printer # 1 is serial, inactive, and on line.
The printer is running on line 22.
Assigned output queues: 1 .
The number of inter-job pages to eject is 0.

This is the information from the PRINTER-SETUP (Listing current
printers)
Type Number Output Queues Skip(b/a) PIB Details
Parallel 0 0 3 5 (0/0) 23 lp0
Parallel 1 1 (0/0) 22 lp1

Notice that printer number 0 does not show up in the SP-STATUS.

Walt, it looks like the printer is not created properly. It should appear
in your SP-STAUS.

It looks like you will need to restart the spooler and then try the Printer
Setup again.

Here's some information (proplus is pretty much A/Pish)"
