Default D3 GROUP command question - 03-31-2011 , 11:16 AM

Does anyone know what the "P" stands for in the output of the D3 GROUP
command:

20976577.06FC 01A2 ABCDE*2296016E*01
20976577.089E 0AC2 ABCDE*1946397H*01
4 items 4960 bytes 1/960 frames in group 20976577

20976578.0000 P 0024 ABCDE*2114661F*01
20976578.0024 005E ABCDE*0323173E*01

Only a small percentage of the records in the file have a "P".

Thanks,

Ron

This is a guess but they may indicate "indirect" or "pointer" items that are too large to be stored normally.

Bingo! Dump the frame and you'll see the ID next to a hex frame
reference. Dump that other frame to see your data.

Thanks for confirming that; we figured it out, too. I did notice that the D3
documentation didn't have any record of the "P".

Thanks for the tip. Another indication of how brilliantly the Pick
Database manages the issue of large items whilst retaining the
advantages of hash grouping.
