I am getting NE1582 displayed when I try to delete an account and it just goes back to displaying the account - even though I have answered the questions to delete the account (N and Y). Thanks Eugene |

I delete and add accounts with D3/NT all the time, and have run into my fair share of problems. Blanket Statement: Any time you delete or add an account; reboot D3. No exceptions. I have run into problems deleting accounts from TCL. For the problem child, I usually (after shutting down D3) go into my computer, and manually delete the sub-directory the account lives in, and then restart D3, open the file manager (not the device manager, which is why D3 has to be up and running), highlight the account pointer (now I going on memory, so I may not have it exact), click on edit the data pointer, and then delete the data pointer. Shut down D3. Double check that the account directory is still actually gone. Reboot D3, and delete any pointer in SYSTEM to the account. Brute force, but it gets the account out of there. This *IS* assuming a FSI account. Art Eugene Perry wrote: It is D3/NT 7.21. Have alway deleted accounts only from within the dm account and then logged out and back in immediately after deleting. No other problems. Doing a account-restore without logging out first, created havoc. |

Thanks. Yes, all of my accounts are FSI. I am going to try and do a reload and then try your idea out. For some strange reason, even if the accounts have all been wiped out and D3 totally reloaded it still happens. I am wondering if I need to do a reload of Windows. I suspect that there is still some stray setting laying around.
