Thanks Bruce, It sounds like programming for these "day/week" traders would be challenging and fun. The only dilemma I could foresee would be keeping my ethics intact while working for those pushing the envelope. I'm not implying that they are doing anything wrong... it just seems that they live on the edge. Certainly - defining "periods" for their activity where the boundaries may change would be interesting. |

I really don't see any "envelope pushing" or ethical, moral, financial, or other kind of dilemma in starting my year on 3rd July, 2005 and ending it on 2nd July 2005.... |

If I fill in the Fiscal Fiend's form as 1st July - 30th June with the data from "my" year isn't going to matter one whit to him.... At least this way I keep my analyses the way *I* want them and he gets a form that's marginally "MOVE RIGHT CORRESPONDING"..... "Swings and Roundabouts" ... if he knows,.... if he cares ... if he understands... We had absolutely no problems in coding for these user requirements: As I said, it's a parameter of NO.OF.PERIODS and a set of corresponding PERIOD.END.DATES. The starting Period Start Date is one day after last year's last Period End Date... Where's the difficulty in that?
