Default Cleaning out my garage I found ... - 05-23-2011 , 07:59 AM

Pick User Digest - 1/89-12/91
Datamation - 5/81-1/82, 3/83-8/83
Pick World - 3/86, 9/88
RDBM Computing - 12/88-3/90
Pragma - 8/82-2/84
Spectrum - 5/86, 9/93, 7/93

I can't guarantee I have every issue within the time spans noted, but
those are the beginning and ending dates.

Are these worth preserving? Anyone know of a good home for them?

Sholom

Definitely worth preserving or at least scanning.

Let's review... Pick User Digest was an independent publication edited
by Ann Wahlenmeir (sp?)
Pick World was the official Pick Systems magazine?

Perhaps our fellow pickies can elaborate on Pragma and the rest?

I believe Pragma was a magazine put out by an outfit named Semaphore. I
don't have the mags in front of me right now, but IIRC it had more of a
techie touch to the articles. I remember liking it.

I would be happy to have them for my research on the history of Pick.
I have some Pick Worlds, but not the others. You can email me at dwolt
@ tincat-group .com to chat about it.

Thanks. --dawn

At this stage in life, memory may not be serving me as it once did,
but I seem to remember that "PICK WORLD" magazine was, at one time,
produced by a gal named Jeanie Sweeney (Name?; Spelling?). PICK
Systems had allowed her the use of the title, I believe, but then
decided to produce their own magazine, called "PICK WORLD", and
reclaimed the title for their own.

I, too, have some "vintage" PICK-related publishing’s, sitting next to
my desk (I don't know why). SPECTRUM TECH, Dec. '87' APRIL '88-Sept.
'88;"most" of '90 monthly’s. Also, SSELECT magazine, July/Aug., '91
(I was a contributing author to SSELECT for a couple of years, or so,
and I have those copies, from early '90's, at home). Finally, I have
many SPECTRUM magazines from Nov., 1984 to April, 1989.

I peruse these copies every once-in-a-while, and find it most
interesting to see where we have come from, and where we are today.

Good day to all.

Jim Cronin
