Default Can someone get a DataBASIC Hello World out here? - 10-03-2006 , 07:27 PM

I noticed that

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...world_programs

does not include a DataBASIC, aka Pick/BASIC or MV Basic Hello World.
I don't know how easy this page is to change since it isn't something I
have done, but perhaps someone else can get an entry in there for Pick?

The general basic one will work, i think they only have entries for
ones that are different.

And what's the simplest version? Are there any improvements on:

STOP 'Hello World'
END

John

STOP 'Hello World'

or

PRINT 'Hello World'

or

CRT 'Hello World'

The general basic one will work, i think they only have entries for
ones that are different.
There are a number of places on the internet with lists of computer
languages, almost all of which do not include DataBASIC, many of which
do not even include BASIC. They often include very detailed other
languages, many of which have no production programs, perhaps never had
any (is there more MIX or B code being maintained today or more
DataBASIC code?) I even saw a comparison of computer languages that
had Visual Basic and no others from the BASIC family. It said that
Visual Basic was influenced by Quick Basic, where with other languages,
it gave a much more comprehensive list of influences. At the very
least Dartmouth BASIC, on which DataBASIC is based, should be noted in
the history books.

I did nothing to correct that one, so when I saw this one, I thought
I'd take some action. It is just fine if the Hello World program for
one language is the same as for another here and good for us not to
always be invisible, methinks. cheers! --dawn

Hi Frosty
I loved it. Note the date, he could now include some wonderful web stuff.
By the way note also the spelling mistakes on the heading on the home page
he must be an artistic type.
Thanks
