Default Bart & Winter - 03-02-2007 , 11:12 PM

Does anyone know where I could download a copy of Bart and/or Winter?
Both of which are on the family tree poster, but with links indicated
that no longer work.

IIRC, M. Tidwell was the author (or one of the authoris?) of Winter.
Does anyone know who the author of Bart was?

Thanks. --dawn

re: BART --> . An Experimental Freeware MV like Database for Windows
95-2000'. The purpose of "Bart" is to encourage fresh ideas in MV
environments. Bart is best summed up as 'Pick For Windows', and is
Dave Browns single-handed attempt to implement a stand-alone event-
driven Multivalue Database Virtual Machine for Windows 95 -> 2000.
"Bart" is not a commercial product. It is a 'homebrew' system
developed from scratch over several years.

I believe that BART never really made it out of the garage, and is now
defunct

Thanks, Ross. Searching this ng for Dave Brown showed up some
interesting posts in 2000. I started reading cdp in 2002 IIRC, so
Dave is a character I did not know. Thanks a bunch. --dawn

A simple Google search turned up this link to the Winter database
system.

Whether all the links are good or not is up to you to find out...

Thanks, Dale. The URL on my family tree poster no longer worked and
someone asked me about it. I'm not sure where along the line I forgot
about google ;-(

cheers! --dawn
