Default Availablity of PDP-11 PICK? - 02-23-2006 , 03:20 PM

Does anybody know if there's a disk or tape image of this available,
along with at least some basic documentation. It sounds like it might
be fun to play around with.

I think the very old antique Ultimate 750s and 1000 were PDP 11s.

Even the pack rat that I am, I finally through out the old Ultimate 1000
tapes I had last year. OK, my other 1/2 forced me too

And the Ultimate 2000, 2020 and 3030. However, they all used the
Ultimate co-processor, so, without that, you won't get the Ultimate OS
running on the DEC LSI architecture alone.

Tony,

Looks like you are suffering from one of the symptoms of the dreaded
Pick's disease :

Personality Change: the person may lose their inhibitions and becomes
extrovert or may become withdrawn. They may talk to strangers,
particularly
children, make inappropriate remarks in public, and be rude or
impatient. They
sometimes appear selfish which is caused by a loss of mental
flexibility and
being unable to see someone else's point of view. The person may become
aggressive which may be quite out of character. The development of
routines and
behaviour - for example the person may develop compulsory walking
routines or
become obsession in certain behaviours. Their behaviour is often
described as
childlike.

<tongue in cheek>
That was a very pleasant and considerate post. I can see the deep thinking
and tolerance for fellow man that went into it.

<observation and commentary>
If one looks closely, the statement, "OK, my other 1/2 forced me too" could
be considered correct in that his other half forced him, in addition to his
prior reason, to throw it out. "OK, my other 1/2 forced me also."

Can't we just get along?

*sigh*

PS: Yes, someone is bound to connect me to the postings concerning Rachel's
grammar and rightly so. Remember, my comments were observational only and
did not directly accuse Rachel of anything, unlike the *polite* posting I am
responding to here. I prefer to be a peacekeeper. That was my intent with
Rachel. It is my intent here *too*, although I do have to admit to a wry
sense of humor that many times is misunderstood.

*finds unoccupied corner, surrounding myself with flame retardant materials
and waits for the fireworks*

Yes - he might also have just corrected the offending portions of the post
and left it at that - one wonders at where such people are "coming from"
sometimes (from whence such people come?) - maybe alt.grammar.asshole or
some equivalent.

BFaux ;-)
