You may have better luck posting this in RD's mvD list. Lance du Toit "Rich" <richard (AT) calidore (DOT) com> wrote in message news:311e4495.0310080805.22a374d7 (AT) posting (DOT) google.com... I would be interested in hearing from anyone using mvDesigner and mvBase |

Contact RD Marketing for a referral (or have your VAR do so). They had to have some business reason for porting FlashCONNECT and mvD to mvBase, so you'll probably find some sites. I haven't seen you post to the RD e-mail forums: mvDesigner-list and mvBase-list. Seems to me that's where you'll actually find colleagues using the software. Personally I wouldn't get hung up trying to find someone with the same configuration that you're running. mvD works pretty much the same with all platforms. If there are issues contact RD, if there aren't then just write and sell your software. Maybe you ARE a pioneer... Tony richard (AT) calidore (DOT) com (Rich) wrote: |

Tony, we are a VAR and we post on the RD forum with a name of Calidore. I am trying to ascertain where mvD and mvBase are going. When we took the product earlier this year the mvbase version had a very basic flaw in that it would not let you insert a multi-valued list in to a form but the D3 version did.I have never seen a patch for this fix publically announced theredfore we must be the only ones who have it, how is anyone else working? I want to talk to other users and see how they are progressing and what support they are getting from RD. |

Richard, I posted an inquiry to the mvdesigner-list (e-mail forum) on your behalf. About 20 minutes later, Pierre Trinephi, the Product Manager, posted that the list bug was fixed for the current mvD 2.1 release. As a VAR you could have called or e-mailed RD Support to get that status information. Granted, it's not easy to find this sort of info on your own. RD appears to be burying mvD into FlashCONNECT as part of their new Hide and Seek product feature initiative. (They hide product changes and you have to figure out what they changed - isn't that fun!?) They announced last month that FC 3.2 was available but didn't mention mvD 2.1. The mvDesigner documentation pages only mention mvD 2.0, and the mvD info is included in FC 3.0 documentation. The release notes from FC 3.2 include this Resolution for mvD: "28432 Corrected a problem on mvBase where returning multiple column data only returns the first column." That may be the issue which gave you grief initially. If you filed that action item, you can always check with RD Support for the status. If that is not the issue you had, I suggest putting in a new call to Support, which is your right as a VAR. I have no idea what the future of mvD is for mvBase or any other platform. That's a marketing issue which I suggest you take up with RD rather than in public forums. In my inquiry I also asked for other mvBase users to reply to your web forum posting. Good luck, Tony richard (AT) calidore (DOT) com (Rich) wrote: Tony, we are a VAR and we post on the RD forum with a name of Calidore. I am trying to ascertain where mvD and mvBase are going. Tony said <<I have no idea what the future of mvD is for mvBase or any other platform. That's a marketing issue which I suggest you take up with RD rather than in public forums. I read this a different way; I got the impression that he wanted to get a feel for what the rest of us thought about mvDesigner (essentially, were any of us using it?), which would not be a marketing issue. If the consensus was that it wasn't worth our time, maybe he shouldn't waste his resources on it either; on the other hand, if we all loved it, maybe he should continue as he has been doing. Marketing will probably tell you it's the greatest thing since swiss cheese <g>. Personally, I haven't used it, so my comments are just from an "understanding" point of view. Or, I might be all wet. ![]() Ron "Tony Gravagno" <g6q3x9lu53001 (AT) sneakemail (DOT) com.invalid> wrote in message news:epuoov4ucbipahv4mh5qi19v536navdds8 (AT) 4ax (DOT) com...
