Just came accross this post and all I can tell you is to learn .Net
VB.Net or C# and it will help you in a long term. You may also start
thinking about how to make you life easier and migrate from pick to
sql. It is much faster etc. I'm sure many older developers will not
agree but thats life.
** troll.

Would have been one star, but I gave one more for "older developers."

There are quite a few for Pick, if you know where to look. If you
want some links for jobs, let me know. There are many more jobs for
SQL but also many, many more people seeking them.

I think his point is unfortunately made more effectively with the
above response.

About 20 years ago, you could look in the newspaper and see a Pick job
once in a while. These days that's rare - if for no other reason than
most people don't read newspapers anymore.

There are placement firms specializing in various maintstream
technologies but we can count on one hand how many there are for Pick,
and probably on one finger how many are effective.

Given the poor market, I think the DBMS providers should have picked
up the gauntlet to help foster their market in this manner. Most of
them have not realized the requirement. Of the few MV DBMS companies
that attempt to help broker employment relationships, most have done a
dismal job of it.

I've updated the PickWiki Employment page with links to DBMS vendors
that have employment pages (additions welcome):
http://www.pickwiki.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Employment

Let's pick our fights carefully. Most of us here will agree that Pick
is the superior technology, with many solutions to problems that the
SQL world is always trying to fix. But when someone trolls with notes
about a tiny market with few employment opportunities, I think it's
best to humbly agree and simply move on to another discussion.

I'd prefer discussions about what we can do to fix the market but in
my experience most people really aren't interested. That's just
another confirmation of the problem.

No, if I was joking, I'd say something like,
"Michael Jackson and Saddam Hussein walk
into a bar..."

Sorry - came in late to this - but this is an easy one. I have never
really used accuterm massivly - I always much preferred wintegrate.
However as i say the answer is easy - definitely .NET every time.
