Hello all! I have a quick question, I was wondering if Paradox is still under development, and if we can expect to see a new version come out sometime in the future. Does anyone know? I've looked over the Corel website, and it's makes me wonder, there's no mention of Paradox whatsoever on the whole website, not even in the pages for Office X3? What gives? Also, does anyone know what the truly latest version is? I have version 11.0.0.411 Thanks! -Rick |

you have the latest version.. all development of Paradox by Corel, and the BDE by Borland, stopped about 5 years ago.. the only difference between 10 and 11 is the SP that fixed an external XP SP2 ODBC error.. |

In addition, Corel has promised a service pack to resolve issues with Vista |

In addition, Corel has promised a service pack to resolve issues with Vista no, Corel has stated that they agree that an SP would be needed to make the Vista fixes.. that doesn't mean there's gonna be an SP.. bear in mind that all dev support staff have been gone from Corel for five years.. who exactly is gonna fix anything????? |

wondered about for some time is why no other company have bought the Paradox right from Corel. Should be kind of cheap, I mean Corel cannot make much |

Or - how large team it would take to modernize Paradox. For the curiosity, what is the development platform behind Paradox? Anynone that knows? |

That sounds even worse than anything I had imagined. One thing I have wondered about for some time is why no other company have bought the Paradox right from Corel. Should be kind of cheap, I mean Corel cannot make much money on the present product. But then, maybe no one else would want to spend a dollar for this product. Well, there are enthusiasts out there, but I don't even know what kind of skills it would take to develop Paradox further, given that one had the source code. (sigh).. google the topic, and eventually you'll find several long, long threads over the past few years.. Borland owns the BDE, and they stopped dev work on that 5 years ago.. Corel owns distribution and dev rights to Paradox, but Paradox is totally tied to the BDE.. so Corel stopped, too.. |
