Default Unknown internal operating system error - 01-10-2008 , 11:10 AM

Thought I'd share a very frustrating problem we've had for the last year or
so, that was finally solved.

We use the Corel Web Server to host a web service. Occassionally, it will
stop working with this error:
Unknown internal operating system error.
File: T:\ResvTrip.db
File: T:\Reserv.db

This has happened 5 or so times in the last year, typically overnight.

Last night, Microsoft released some security updates, and we noticed a message
on the server that it had applied them and rebooted. Since the server rebooted,
the CWS client lost its network drive, possibly right in the middle of a
conversation, causing the error!

So, we've changed our server to only download the updates, and we'll manually
apply them.

I posted this here so it gets more visibility, though it probably belongs
in pnews.paradox-web.

HTH,
Jim Moseley

Jim,

You might also want to verify that the NIC is NOT set to be put to
sleep by the OS.

Possibly a completely different issue, but...
