Default UnexepctedGeneral Protection Fault - 09-22-2006 , 04:23 PM

I am running Paradox 10 on Windows XP Pro. I run a query, I do a quick
report, I click on design report then I click on file/page setup and I get
the follwing error:

UNEXPECTED GENERAL PROTECTION VIOLATION.

Any ideas?

Confirm that a default-printer is selected and correctly specified to
Windows. Also check the "design for printer" setting; try it on and off.

And make sure a virtual printer (adobe acrobat or somesuch) is NOT the first
printer on the list of printers.

Has anyone ever gotten an Expected General Protection Fault?

Just wondering . . .

Yes,
when I (in the last century <g>) used P9 first time without knowing about
the SPs and tried to use my adjusted reports from P7 the GPV have been
expected, because there was no report I could open neither in run nor in
design mode without a GPV <g>.
This was what made me look for Paradox forums, which I happily found. To
read I was not alone and SP3 would fix this all was the beginning of
regularly lurking in these groups (administrated by Deja or so, I believe).

The truth, but a joke of course...

The Paradox for Windows report-system is, as usual, a whole lot more
advanced than other report generators. And it makes a lot of queries into
the Windows metafile system that others don't do.

I think that the PdoxWin design team did a great job within their own
product, generally speaking, but when you call-out to an external DLL and
an exception occurs, down it goes. Same is true for any application.
