Yes, after all, who needs a programmable utility to repair Paradox tables?

nice plug, Mike, but not even close to being a valid comparison (grin)..
table repair is something *every* user needs to deal with, at some point in
time.. and the same repair tool works with all Paradox tables, no matter
what platform they're deployed with.. even today, from scratch, that would
be an instantly viable concept..

Far from being a "plug," it was simply meant to point out that some small
niche ideas /do/ (thank you, everyone) "pan out." This may be another. We
shall see.

Not if he can turn it into a more general concept, and expand it to other

I'm looking at dBase derivatives ... as a huge repository of moldy-oldy
code. And I'm looking for venture capital.

Crazy idea, but sometimes those work: Why don't you try getting in touch
with Tom Golisano, from Paychex, Inc.?
http://www.paychex.com/investors/gov...directors.html

Very computer-savvy company, and he's always giving away money to hospitals,
etc. Look at some of the board members. Maybe he could hook you up with
someone interesting.
