Dear everybody, I just installed Paradox 10 on a new machine, and I get a strange error every time I try to open a table: (Translated from Norwegian ![]() "c:\pdoxwin\paradox\paradox.pic contains an invalid path" The directory c:\pdoxwin\ or c:\pdoxwin\paradox does not exist on my machine. I used this this previously on older machines, so it might be a part of some ini-file or likewise that I have copied as part of a paradox project. The new computer has Paradox installed in the standard place - something like "c:\program files\corel\word perfect office\ etc ..." Sincerely, Anders T. B. anders (forsureat) kommunion.no |

This went to fast ... The error happens every time I try to restructure a table. I get to restructure the table, but I have to "OK" this annoying error message first. Every time. Sincerely, Anders T. Anders Does the table contain a Picture val check? I have tried tables both with and without val-files, and the error remains the same. What's you registry setting for [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\Paradox\10.0\Conf iguration\UsrPicDir] |
Do you have any pdoxwin.ini or pdoxwork.ini ( with more than an empty [Folder] section) files in the same folder as the table? |
Does the table have a .FAM file or a .TV file? |
Does the table have a lookup table? |

I'm not the OP, but since I'm having the same problem, I may as well poach. On Thu, 7 Dec 2006 21:01:16 +0100, "Bertil Isberg" <ctech (AT) corel (DOT) ca wrote: What's you registry setting for [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\Paradox\10.0\Conf iguration\UsrPicDir] Actually, I'm running Paradox 9.0, so the registry key has "9.0" instead of "10.0" Its value is C:\Program Files\Corel\WordPerfect Office 2000\Paradox Yes, that folder does contain a file named padox.pic. I added this registry enty by hand -- it didn't previously exist, and I guessed that adding it might cure the problem. Alas, no. Curiously, using XP's Search dialog (the one with the sappy little puppy wagging its tail) doesn't find paradox.pic. I can drill down with File Manager (or whatever they call it nowadays) and find it easily enough, though. No, it desn't have any of the Read-only, Hidden, or Archive attributes set. Do you have any pdoxwin.ini or pdoxwork.ini ( with more than an empty [Folder] section) files in the same folder as the table? No. Does the table have a .FAM file or a .TV file? No. Does the table have a lookup table? No. This problem isn't really life-threatening. I can still restructure the table. It's just annoying to have to close what seems like an extraneous warning dialog. |
