"scbcbis"?

That's his window's User Account. Yours will be different - mine is "JimMoseley".

Okay -- mine's "Stephen Grant." But there's no "Application Data,"
etc. folder. Doesn't this entry just point to your paradox.pic file,
wherever it may be?

NO. It points to your paradox.usr.pic file. That's user created pictures.
paradox.pic is the builtin pictures.

If you can't see Application data, it's probably because you have Show
hidden files unchecked in Windows Explorer.

Sorry for the late response ... but now I have solved it. Look below if you
are interested ...

What's you registry setting for

C:\Documents and Settings\Anders T

Do you have any pdoxwin.ini or pdoxwork.ini ( with more than an empty
[Folder] section) files in the same folder as the table?
No.

Quote:
Does the table have a .FAM file or a .TV file?
No.

Quote:
Does the table have a lookup table?
No. It happens to ALL tables regardless of location.

Now on to the solution.

My Paradox installation was brand new on a totally fresh computer. That's
why it is very strange that it reported the following:
"c:\pdoxwin\paradox\paradox.pic contains an invalid path"

I have NEVER installed anything into c:\pdoxwin, and the path does not
exist - and it has never existed either.
As far as I can remember that was the default location for Paradox 1.0 for
Windows roughly 14 years ago ...

So I searched the registry for this strange path, and at the following
location:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\Paradox\10.0\Conf iguration\ParadoxDir]
I found two key/value pairs:
(Standard): c:\pdoxwin\paradox
Default: C:\Programfiler\Corel\WordPerfect Office 2002\Programs

I changed (Standard) into C:\Programfiler\Corel\WordPerfect Office
2002\Paradox where I have previously found the paradox.pic file on my
machine, and now everything works smoothly.

Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,
Anders T. B.

I have tried tables both with and without val-files, and the error remains
the same.

Anders

Does the table contain a Picture val check?

Do you have a .val file belonging to the table?

Dear everybody,

I just installed Paradox 10 on a new machine, and I get a strange error
every time I try to open a table:
(Translated from Norwegian
"c:\pdoxwin\paradox\paradox.pic contains an invalid path"

The directory c:\pdoxwin\ or c:\pdoxwin\paradox does not exist on my
machine. I used this this previously on older machines, so it might be
a part of some ini-file or likewise that I have copied as part of a
paradox project.
The new computer has Paradox installed in the standard place -
something like "c:\program files\corel\word perfect office\ etc ..."

Sincerely,
Anders T. B.
