Default SQLQuery syntax using ODBC Paradox driver - 06-29-2006 , 02:03 PM

Hi. There is a table named #2006_06.db. Query "SELECT * FROM #2006_06" results in a syntax error. If changed to "SELECT * FROM '#2006_06'", the same error occurs, but they say it works fine when using BDE. Is there any way to execute this query using ODBC?
Thanks.

Try putting the table name in double quotes.

The effect is the same as with single ones: works in DBE, not in ODBC.

If you are using the MS ODBC driver for Paradox, the syntax is pretty
obscure. Here is a sample I got using MS Query with Excel:

SELECT `TEMP-DPT`.Att, `TEMP-DPT`.AOU_code, `TEMP-DPT`.EFTSU
FROM `C:\Data\Stuff`\`TEMP-DPT.DB` `TEMP-DPT`

Note the use of the left single quote to delimit the path and the
filename separately. You will also be limited to 8.3 filenames.

If you are using the old InterSolv driver, then you don't need the
single quote between the path and the filename.
