Default Report Problem Last page causes GPF - 04-07-2006 , 05:23 PM

Hello all,
I have a report that keeps GPF on the last record. The error occurs
regardless of the number of records, it is always the last record that
does it. The report is based on a single table. Three group bands and
then appromately 20 fields in the record band. I have tried both bare
fields and fields in a MRO and the same thing happens. The fields are
all A 255. I have tried with all objects including the bands set to
breakable and without. I am stumped. The report works great on all
pages but the last record. Any ideas? Paradox 9.00.883
Thanks

Stan,

Is the same record always the last - I've seen this caused by funky
characters in an alpha or memo field.

Have you tried to runt the report based on different data?

I have a vague memory about seeing this when there was too much data to fit
on one page in a specific record. Can't remember the detail.

Liz,

No, it doesn't matter what record end up being last. I have sorted and
filtered several diffent ways to see if it was a data corruption issue.
I believe it is more a report format issue.

Anders,

I have run the report based on several different records from the same
table, is this what you mean?

Thanks for the help, I am still trying to figure it out.

Stan

I was trying to establish if the report crashes no matter what data is in
the underlying table or if it crashes only with specific data.

So basicallly, try to base the report on a table with very limited data.
Just a couple of records and very little data. If it runs, keep adding more
complex data in small batches and keep testing and try to find when it
crashes.

Anders

I tried opening the report on a copy of the table that I had emptied
and it GPFs while trying to open the report. Any thoughts?

Not really, it can't be data dependent then. I *think* a report can get
corrupted. One idea is to start all over from scrathc, recreate each object
(not copy paste from the old) and see what happens...

Yeah, I've had a corrupted report -- and found out the hard way that
copying and pasting just makes copies of the corruption. With a little bit
of luck you have an old archive copy that predates the corruption.
Otherwise ... :-(
