you're not alone, yet.. the community server has a separate section for DOS,
too.. but your clients have to ask "what happens when Dick gets hit by a
bus?'.. if you and your clients are not well into conversion projects, your
clients are working without a net.. NOT a smart course of action..

Hi Steve---long time no see! I'm busproof! Besides, the apps are
just my personal ones, for generating monthly greeting card lists,
keeping a record of the 1100+ DVDs I've given away, and tracking tax
deuctible expensess, and investments,

I'm 81 now---I don't need clients any more <gr>!

How do I access the DOS section?

< thedbcommunity.com,> got me a "this page cannot be displayed" message.
Did I paste too much or too little?

depends on your browser.. sometimes, the "www" is taken for granted, and is
not typed.. other times, it's required.. you should know what's needed, or
not needed, for your machine..

before making my first post, i tried registering either at the above
website or another that dealt with db's, but the website would just
hang and i couldn't get access.

i could check which website it is, but it'll take time. i bookmarks
things but they aren't in a "database." so, figuring out which one it
was might be a trial and error situation.

good to hear there's a section dedicated to DOS.

lastly, i'm comfortable going thru google groups. if the above
websites have more bells & whistles, wouldn't mind hearing a short
sales pitch.

above the post was this message:

"Note: The author of this message requested that it not be archived.
This message will be removed from Groups in 6 days (Jul 21, 6:52
pm)."

so what happens after Jul 21? will google groups keep the message?

No idea. Most of us access this newsgroup via the
pnews.thedbcommunity.com news server - it's set to keep everything (as
far as I know).

You don't need to register to access all the info on
http://www.thedbcommunity.com/ - you won't find more Paradox-specific
info on any other website.

The Paradox Community newsgroups (thedbcommunity.com) have more Paradox
information than anywhere else I know of (except possibly google's
archive of Corel's groups, but that's old info and this is new info).
There's 2 ways to get to the newsgroups:

1) in a web browser at http://pnews.thedbcommunity.com - again, no
registration required (or even possible), you just go there and follow
the links.

2) in a newsreader (Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.) at
news://pnews.thedbcommunity.com

Note that the DOS-specific stuff is probably mostly on the -dos
newsgroup on the news server, rather than on the website.

No idea where that came from. Certainly not me.
