Default Paradox from Office X3 Installed - remote tables showing again - 05-15-2006 , 04:10 PM

I just bought Corel WordPerfect Office X3 Professional version,
so that I could try that version of paradox.
I had Version 10 sp3 already installed on this computer.

Pdox Installation was on its own menu choice on the installation cd,
so that was easy, and installation went smooth.

The report expert did not work correctly at first.
An error of 'A library or table required to run the experts' popped up.
So, I ended up entering BDE in control panel and deleting the pdxExperts
alias.
Upon entering pdox again, it seems the alias was then created approriately.

A while ago the xp sp2 patch caused the well known issue with querying
remote tables.
Interactive queries were possible using the data model,
but tables disappeared from a lot of the interactive dialog boxes.

Well..........after installing the pdox with office x3,
I happy to say that the tables are showing up again.....
Not sure if that was common knowledge or not so I thought I would post.

yes, it's supposed to be that way.. but one thing nobody has done yet, is to
compare the build number in X3 with the build number in 11 and 12.. in
theory, they should all be the same now..

They're not. Maybe 12 and 13 are, but 11 was slightly off from 13
(.410 instead of .411 or something like that).
