Default Paradox.net file - 03-31-2006 , 02:54 PM

We're having some problems linking a pivot table to a Paradox 9 table.
Sometimes the connection works and then all of a sudden we'll get an "ODBC
Paradox Driver Login Failed" window that says "Could not open Paradox.net".
From what I've learned about this file, it is the same type of file as
pdoxusrs.net, except that it was used in version 3.5 and earlier.

Is this just a matter of getting a copy of the Paradox.net file and putting
it on the pc that is running the pivot table? I can't understand why it
would be looking for this file, but if that is all it would take to solve
the issue, it would be fine.

Thanks,
Doug.

No.

The file is not required. If the ODBC driver asks for paradox.net, it might
be an incorrect errormessage.

When you configure the ODBC datasource you specify a folder called network
directory, where the pdoxusrs.net is to be stored. When accessing data on a
server, the file holds information on every active user using that folder
as Network directory. Once it was also used for holding licenses
information, counting active users.

Do you have a network directory specified for the ODBC Datasource? Does that
folder exist?
