Default Paradox 7 file format - 07-03-2006 , 11:59 AM

Hello!

Well, I've already searched this subject on comp.databases.paradox but
I haven't found exactly what I want.

I need to read columns from Paradox 7 files under Windows and Unix. I
can do it well on Windows because I can use either ODBC or Borland
tools, but it's not possible to use the same tools on Unix. So I was
thinking about either making my own tool on a programming language like
C or using a ready program without having to reinvent the whell. The
problem is that I couldn't fine any program that can do that on both
Unix and Windows.

Any tips about a program like that or the Paradox 7 file format (so I
can make my own tool)?

Thank you very much. Bye!

The Paradox file format is proprietary and secret. Borland won't release
it.

Thank you Tony. Is there big differences between the forth and the
seventh versions? I have information about Paradox 4 internals.

Thank you again.

No idea.

The specifics haven't been released, so how could I know?

How about a little Google research?

http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...c+unix+paradox

http://www.openlinksw.com/info/mtproduct.htm

http://www.datadirect.com/products/o...view/index.ssp

http://www.easysoft.com/products/data_access/index.html

Seems like at least a few options to track down.

You can use ODBC on Unix with the appropriate software. Google ODBC2UNIX.
