I work part time for a middle school that uses an educational package called Plato. This application uses Paradox 8 as its RDBMS engine. I want to be able to open the tables and create customized queries and reports. I haven't used Paradox since Access came out but I have an old copy Borland Paradox 3.0 on floppies. Is this historical relic capable of opening the database? If not, do I have any alternative to purchasing WordPerfect Office Suite Professional? |

No, not DOS 3 (although I probably have a copy of that somewhere too), PARADOX 3. |
|
You may recall that Borland bought this RDBMS from ANSA sometime around '85 or so. |

beyond that, you really DO want full Paradox eight, so that you're doing everything in the same version.. not required, but it IS easier.. |

Are you saying that I will not be able to accomplish my goals with the version of Paradox I asked the school to purchase? |

Undelivered forms and reports (those with .fsl or.rsl extensions) can be opened with earlier versions of PDOXWIN. |
|
When the developer delivers the form (.*dl extension) only the version that the forms were delivered in can open the forms and reports. |

I didn't think there was a PDOXWIN 3.0, I thought 3.0 was a DOS |
