I'm having trouble installing pdox ver 4.5 on a win xp machine. I get
the following errors upon opening the program:

File error: Cannot find odapi01.dll
File error: Cannot find LD01.dll
File error: Cannot find odapiq01.dll
Can't run a 16 bit windows proram | can't find file
C:/pdoxwin/pdoxwin.exe

Can this program run on win xp? Were in the process of upgrading
machines.

Did you install as Administrator? (Not just a user with administrative rights)

none of those is the "normal" first error that you'd get.. pointing the
Windows Temp to a drive under 2 gig is usually all you have to do.. (a small
drive, a zip drive, a USB drive, or a burnable CD will do the trick)

The user was admin and still received those errors.

so, in theory, a clean install, then disaster when you click on the app..?

Have you tried giving FULL rights to the directory(ies) that house the ODAPI
files? (you might do the same for the directory where you installed Paradox)

Have you tried setting the appcompatibility in the icon starting the program?

Steve, that is correct. clean install open the app and the flood of
errors opens.

considering the errors.. are you running raw paradox, or an app?.. if an
app, which is what I expect you to say, can you confirm that the errors
aren't simply a result of starting the app in the wrong place, or without
the right path/mapping, or the right aliases, or w/o the right startup
script, etc??
