Default Help please - Paradox wants to run in debug mode - 02-08-2006 , 11:18 PM

Paradox ver 10: I was editing/debugging a script and without doing anything
to cause it (as far as I am aware), Paradox insists in running in debug
mode, one step at a time.

I get the message 'Program interrupted - Do you really want to stop?'

I have removed debug statements and 'Compiler warnings' and 'Compile with
Debug' on the Program menu.

Even previously compiled files with no debug statements are affected.

What should I do?

When do you get this?

What happens if you use the Run button in the Debugger? Won't it run to
the end of code?

Which settings have you activated on the General tab under Tools |
Settings | Developer Preferences?

Thanks for the prompt response Bertil.

The problem has fixed itself - I turned off the computer in disgust and gave
up for the day. When I rebooted this morning the problem was not there. (Why
hadn't I tried that????)

But to answer your question: Pressing the run button simply stepped one line
at a time through the program.

In Developer Preferences, I have the following ticked: Advanced ObjectPAL
level; Enable Ctrl+Break; Enable debug statement; Show developer menus. BUT
I did try changing these without effect.

I recall having the same problem several years ago - maybe with an earlier
version of Paradox - and there was a "fix" (not needed this time).

The message you got, 'Program interrupted - Do you really want to stop?'
seems to indicate the Ctrl+Break key combination in some way got stuck.
