Default Desktop State - 03-30-2006 , 03:09 PM

In my preferences Desktop State
Save on exit-Checked
Restore on Startup-Checked

While these items are checked it does not happen.
Since the service personnel just rebuilt my computer last week, I am
thinking I do not have rights to a file/folder.

Any ideas which file/folder or other useful hints?
TIA

Which version of Paradox?

If you are using P11 with the latest SP you are probably seeing the effect
of the regclean.exe (or what is was called) thing that Corel put in there.
You can eliminate it from the registry.

Gary

On my site, URL below, there's a document, Beyond the help files. In the
index, look for Installation, and you'll find 10 Installation: Paradox 11.

Last item covers your issue.

Sorry for my lack of info in my first post. Blame it on Panic.

I'm using Paradox 9 sp3
My hard drive died last week and was reloaded by info services.
I reloaded Paradox 9 sp3 and BDE 5.2 (maybe my mistake as I had used 5.1.1
before. It has been so long I forgot which I had used before until after the
fact.)
I should have enough access to whatever I need to use Paradox (not a given,
no one trusts me) on Win 2000 sp 4.

With Preferences | Set to Open Project Viewer on startup;
no project viewer on start up, but will start by Tools |Project viewer.

Preferences | Desktop State
Checked Save on Exit
Checked Restore on Startup

After exiting Paradox it does not restore to its last window size but always
to some default size.

If I leave a table open when exiting it would restart with that table if the
drive were available. Not now.

My thinking is I do not have rights to some file or folder

Or perhaps BDE 5.2 contains this as described by Bertil Isberg.

After having installed, WP Office 12 SP2 and the separate SP2 for Paradox,
the preferences changed under Tools | Settings | Developer Preferences and
Preferences, are not restored after a reboot of the PC.

This is due to their new in SP2 "delete the Paradox HKCU stuff at logon" exe
they tossed in the Run key. Open RegEdit, locate the run key, delete the
entry for PdxRegCl.exe

What is the start command in the icon you use to start Paradox?

Does it contain the -c command line switch? This MAY clear the Project Viewer
and/or prevent it from opening.

Again, what is the start command in the icon?

This will also happen with -c, I believe.

Your smart. The icon went back to newpdx.ico
I changed it to Pdoxwin32 and it works as expected.
Thanks!!!!!
