PL/SQL is a structured programming language. Do you think programming
in assembler is a better option? Probably you don't even know what it
is to program in assembler. PL/SQL isn't a horrible language, compared
to Java PL/SQL is a readable language.
And yes, you can write a structured program in any language, including
assembler, and you can make a mess of it in any language, including
PL/SQL.
PL/SQL is only a horrible language if you don't know how toprogram.

PL/SQL programming is also rather nice.
