Default Oracle TOAD: Home & End keys not working in SQL Editor - 09-25-2007 , 07:43 AM

I am temporarily using a PC which has install of Oracle TOAD v7.4.0.3.
When using the SQL Editor the Home and End Keys do not work? It's not
a keyboard issue as they work fine in other application on the PC i.e.
Word, Notepad, Outlook.

I have tried to find out further info online and found resources
stating about a ROW:COL value and to look at the toad.ini file but I
still haven't had any luck.

Can anybody help out? This isn't my PC so don't really want to have to
install or upgrade to a later version.

From the group charter:

Comp.databases.oracle.tools is a news group provided for discussion
of software applications and tools available from Oracle Corporation,
or designed to work with Oracle applications. Developers of end-user
applications will find this newsgroup most useful.

This group includes but is not limited to articles discussing
applications and topics such as the following:
Oracle Developer 2000 (Forms, Reports, Graphics)
Designer 2000
The SQL Language, SQL Plus, PL/SQL
Training and books

So TOAD is not excluded ..... and since a large number of Oracle Developers
is using TOAD posting this question here might generate an answer....

Did I say he posted in the wrong group?
I merely corrected the manufacturer, which could
be understood as Oracle, to Quest.

Anyway - per default, they work: Home: beginning of sentence,
END: end of sentence.
You can probably customize via Tools->Customize, or View->Options

Still no answer to the original question though

Quest Support want me to register my details, etc.

Oops, you're right.... Discussions in this forum tend to wander away from
the original subject, sorry for that. The only thing I could come up with is
that there could be macros defined to these keys. Since I stopped using Toad
and with that, paying for support (switched to pl/Sql developer), I can't
check the support site anymore...
One option to check: your keyboard has two home keys (one special key, one
on the num key pad). Do they both fail?
If Quest wants your details, you could give them the registration number of
the clients site... if they have one. If they haven't, it's their problem...

Didn't I explain the default actions?
Didn't I hint where to look in the menu?
