Nuno:

# Perhaps if you got off the ad-homine attacks and actually got off
your behind to help stop spammers you'd be more useful to this
newsgroup?

Sorry apparently I was unaware that you volunteered me to lead the
cdos anti spam effort. As I was also apparently unaware that you are
running a usefulness rating service for cdos.

Tell you what ... you can have full control of the anti spam efforts
here. Please keep us posted how that works out for you and the rest
of the newsgroup.

Oh yes you did, with your unicellular brain.

Now, if I had to decide who has a unicellular brain, you or Nuno, my vote
goes to you, without a moment of hesitation. You are number one. In this
case, that is not a compliment.

ah, Mladen, if you've got nothing better to do, please correct this
script on your mentor's website, if you can find the errors (apart
from the missing or unusable quotes, the select contains two syntax
and one logical error)
It can be found on page t_session_cached_cursors_optimal_size.htm
I wonder why you guys publish such monsters. Would anyone seeing
this, ask you for consultancy?

col c1 heading “SID”
col c2 heading “Cache|Hits”
col c3 heading “All Parsing”
col c4 heading Un-used Session|Cached Cursors”

select
sid c1,
stat1.value c2,
stat2.value c3,
stat2.value c4
from
v$sesstat stat1,
v$sesstat stat2,
v$statname name1,
v$statname name2
where
stat1.statistic# = name1.statistic#
and
name1.statistic# = name2.statistic#;
and
name1.name = 'session cursor cache hits'
and
stat2.statistic#=name2.statistic#
and
name2.name= 'parse count (total)'
and
stat2.sid= stat1.sid

Really man ... back off here and relax.

Mladen is a pretty good guy and really taking pot shots related to the
unnamed one is not exactly class behavior here.

Mladen even likes me from time to time which no doubt proves his
judgement is spotty but flexible.

Narh, I just don't bother with Usenet anymore. It's too nmuch of a troll hole
to be useful for anything. So I just troll the trolls. It works, gets them so
p***ed off they eventually leave. Nothing like fighting fire with fire.

It's hard to relax when people make you angry, John. Well, for me anyhow.

I search Google for an Oracle parameter, up tops (how much would that cost?)
comes as usual a website pretending to offer consultancy, advice, know-how, with
a select statement like the one I quoted.

I wouldn't know where to hide from shame, if I'd ever produce a thing like that.

But your advice is sound.
