select 6 * 7 from dual

I did try the statement you said (although I didn't get how would it
be useful)

I tried that in SQL Plus Worksheet.

I-m actually getting the right output:
select 6*7 from dual,

6*7
----------
42

1 row selected.

But I-m still getting the TNSLSNR problem.
