Default Oracle versus dBase - 05-22-2007 , 03:12 PM

I have worked a lot with dBase (version III upto version 7).
Is there a lot of difference between Oracle and dBase?
Programming in dBase and visual dBase was no problem for me.

Basically there is not much in common, other than that both use the concept
of tables. That's about where the similarities end. Go to
http://www.oracle.com/technology/index.html and look in the documentation
for the concepts manual.

Groetjes.

The only similarity between them is the four letters "base" in
their names.

I can't see a "base" in "Oracle"

Yes.

Buy expert one-on-one (ISBN 1-861004-82-6) and read
chapters 1, 2 and 3 (of the 23).
When done, read chapters 1 through 5, and you have
your answer on the next obvious question: what are
the differences?

Ik heb nog FoxBase (unlimited user license)
liggen - nostalgia!
