Default multi db RAC startup.... - 05-25-2007 , 05:24 PM

All,

I have a 3 node 10.2.0.3.0 cluster with 4 databases running across all
nodes. On reboot of the nodes, some instances are not starting. My
question is what determines the startup order, and how long is the
delay between each startup. I'm running on RHEL4u5. Here is the
output from a manual startup of a single instance.

trac101:templar1:/home/oracle>srvctl start instance -d rpg -i rpg3
PRKP-1001 : Error starting instance rpg3 on node trac103
CRS-1028: Dependency analysis failed because of:
CRS-0223: Resource 'ora.rpg.rpg3.inst' has placement error.
trac101:templar1:/home/oracle>srvctl start instance -d rpg -i rpg3
PRKP-1001 : Error starting instance rpg3 on node trac103
CRS-1028: Dependency analysis failed because of:
CRS-0223: Resource 'ora.rpg.rpg3.inst' has placement error.

If you really "want to do" something like this ( doesn't sound right )
perhaps you might want to be in control of which instances restart and
in what order instead of the clusterware.
