Default CPUOCT2011 - 11-03-2011 , 05:25 AM

Hi,

I'm not able to download the CPUOCT2011 PSU from MOS (the download
link is not active), but all other CPU patches can be downloaded fine.
Anyone else with the same problem??? We are still under support :-)

Matthias

Same here. It tells me "you don't have the required access privilege". I
am able to download other patches but not CPUOCT2011 PSU.

Is that Oracle 10.2?
If yes, it's because you don't have Extended Support.

Yes, Oracle 10.2. But indeed, this might explain it. Guess we need
Extended Support :-)

Thanks,
Matthias

Ah, since when has 10.2 gone into the extended support?

Ah, found it on orafaq:

Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0)

In July 2005, Oracle Database 10.2.0.1 - also known as Oracle Database
10g Release 2 (10gR2) - was released.

Status: Supported
Latest patch-set: 10.2.0.5 (the terminal patch set for this release)

Premier Support Ends: 31-Jul-2010 (First Year Extended Support fees
waived, so it will be fully supported until 31-Jul-2011)
Extended Support Ends: 31-Jul-2013
Bummer!

Does anyone else think it is strange that 9i free extended support for
hp-ux Itanium goes to 2012 but 10gR2 doesn't? Clash of the Titans
explanations excepted, though they do have entertainment value.

MOS 742060.1 and 1130327.1 are informative. There is a link in the
former to the 10.2.0.5 patch set that you can download without
extended support, 8202632. I couldn't find it yesterday through the
patch search, it would either time out or give like 946 things to wade
through, examples of what search parameters I should have used
cheerfully accepted. 12419392 is the 10.2.0.5.4 patch (MOS
1323614.1).
