Default Backup of D:\oracle on Windows - 06-17-2008 , 05:08 AM

Hello,

I have RAC 10g R2 on Win 2003 and I am trying to find a way to backup
the D:\oracle. I don't really
want to use a third party backup client nor do I want to shut down the
DB and run a copy command.

Is there a way for RMAN to include a backup of the D:\oracle?

By the way, by datafiles would reside on E:\oradata, so I would using
RMAN for those.

Thanks,

Howard

Three questions:

Is D:\ORACLE your ORACLE_HOME?

Where do your datafiles etc reside?

Why do you think that you'd have to shut down your database to copy
your ORACLE_HOME?

1. Yes, it is the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE.
2. The datafiles would reside on a LUN on a separate drive.
3. Shut it down if I want to do a cold copy.

Thanks

Howard
