Default all i want for xmas is a couple of books - 12-25-2011 , 09:34 AM

Well some electronic gadgetry also of course.

First new book is Jonathan Lewis's "Oracle Core Essential Internals
for DBA and Developers" ...

Second new book is a sci fi book Planesrunner by Ian McDonald ...

Currently I am reading some pages of the first one then switching to
the second one.

Well actually Planesrunner has a bunch of jumping back and forth
between parallel/divergent universes ... it was kind of a really weak
joke reference.

Jonathan's book is excellent, as was his last one. Best internals book
since Steve Adams and far more complete.

Richard:

# Jonathan's book is excellent, as was his last one.

I need to get back to reading it ... it has been really busy since I
posted this topic.

# Best internals book since Steve Adams and far more complete.

Tanel Poder is on top of the internals space right now. He has not
really written a whole book ( and likely will not ) but does offer
classes periodically. The last 2 years his classes have been web
based ( live from Estonia was the last one ).

I think Jonathan and Tanel are a tough combination ... and Kyte not to
be overlooked!

Now, that would be the holly trinity, to put it in context with Christmas
and Joel's lessons on religion. All we need now is someone to install
Oracle 11 RAC on 4 Linux nodes for our sins. Any volunteers?
