Hi All,


apologies for trivial question...but i need help..


it is possible to run few oracle databases on a single machine...how
can I enumerate a list of SIDs?

As long as it is not Oracle XE, you can (depending on your memory/cpu's
etc). Enumerating SID's is done through TNSNAMES.ORA.

What do you mean by enumerate a list of all SID's ? Do you want to find
out which instances are up on the server ? If that is the case, in
UNIX/Linux you can do a ps -ef (ps -efwww) and grep for "pmon"
