GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is for a senior SAP BASIS Consultant with between 5-7
years experience with production SAP R/3 and SAP NetWeaver application
environments. The role will support a variety of Centium SAP-specific
solutions including, but not limited to; SAP BASIS installations,
migrations (database and platform), upgrades, performance optimization,
hotpacks and other BASIS consulting work. The position will involve
working with client teams to leverage Centium's BASIS knowledge and
other consulting offerings to support their business goals.
DUTIES
· Install and configure SAP BASIS R/3 and NetWeaver software products
· Perform architecture and design of SAP application environments
· Work with database consultants to support database (Oracle, SQL
Server, etc.) implementation for SAP.
· Perform BASIS administrative functions for SAP production and SAP
BW environments.
· Perform SAP BASIS upgrades, patching and other administrative
functions for clients
· Engage to identify performance bottlenecks through best-practice
SAP performance analysis methods.
· Communicate projected timeline, develop applications according to
customer specifications, provide detailed documentation of project
work, and work with other Centium consultants to provide quality
solutions to its clients.
· Install, configure and deploy SAP BASIS based high-availability
solutions on supported Windows, UNIX and LINUX operating platforms.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND EDUCATION
· Certified SAP BASIS consultant preferred.
· Fluent understanding of SAP R/3 and NetWeaver technical software
platforms
· Strong installation experience for SAP BASIS in mission-critical
systems
· Strong experience working with SAP BASIS support for fast issue
resolution on client environments.
· Understanding of various backup configurations - using third
party "hot" agents with SAP BASIS and SAP BR tools
· Understanding of how to properly recommend disk space, RAM and CPU
capacities related to "sizing" an SAP BASIS environment.
· Experience with SAP BASIS in test, development, QA and production
environments in single or multi-tiered deployments.
· Strong operating system experience for UNIX and Windows 2000 &
2003.
· Four-year BS in Computer Science preferred, or at least five years
work experience in SAP BASIS consulting role.

SUPERVISION
· Reports internally to the Regional Services Manager and works with
Database Practice Manager and/or Project Manager(s) to ensure project
milestones and target dates are met.
· Reports externally to the client project manager.
· General setting of goals and objectives without direct day-to-day
supervision.
