You might check the permissions.

Okay - I know I've seen this before but it has me stumped right now. I
have
just set up OEM on a new dev environment and when I try to set the
preferred
credentials for a node/database/lisenter/etc. the settings aren't saved.
Any
ideas? I can log in fine but when I exit the window they settings are
gone.
Have I started the agent wrong?

Thanks,

James

I'm sorry for reposting this - but is there anyone that can help me with
this? Can someone look on metalink for me?

Cheers,

James

Do you have permissions to modify omsconfig.properties - which is where the
encrypted credentials are stored.

Also check the Enterprise Manager logs .... perhaps

ORACLE_HOME\sysman\logs and so forth .... ?

I had massive problems with this two years ago on one PC only .... Couldn't
solve it - I think it was my Java Engine ... using another PC solved the
problem..

The worst thing was the lack of decent logging in OEM.

I'm logging into the console with the sysman account - is there
something
that wouldn't be set up there by default? I'm assuming that the
preferred
creds' are stored in the repository.

James

I have checked the logs....nothing that I can see.

I have checked omsconfig.properties but it doesn't seem to store anything
but repository access info. Is there another file you were referring to?
There is a table in the repository that is for preferred credentials but
that looked okay.

I also remember having simliar problems a few years ago but can't remember
what it was. I don't have metalink access right now so can't check up on it.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Cheers,

James
