Default Oracle 9i Standard Vs Personal Edition. - 12-15-2004 , 10:28 AM

Hello,

We are in a process of going for Oracle 9i licences. But I would like
to know which are the options available in Oracle 9i Standard Vs
Personal Edition.

Will anybody give me output of v$option view for Oracle 9i Standard as
well as Personal edition. Or is there any website where I can find
detailed available options differences between Personal/Standard and
Enterprise edition.

Thanks in advance

Sameer

Thanks for the reply Michel, but metalink can be accessed only by valid
licenced users :-) and I will able to access it only after having a
valid licence before that I can't :-)

Is it possible for you to paste the document from metalink for me? or
is there any way to get it from Oracle sales?

Thanks

Sameer

No, i can't paste it as it will be a violation of my license.
Yes, you can get it from Oracle.

Personal is ONLY available on Windows and is li,mited to 1 user per
instance ... it's for designers/developers. It does have the majority
of features in Enterprise.

Standard has a subset of features in Enterprise, as documented in te New
Features document found at the publically available http://docs.oracle.com

You can't connect from another machine to personal and it is licensed to a
single developer working on a single machine. So it wouldn't be legally
useful for business usage other than for a developer's machine.

Thanks a lot for the informative replies. I guess we would be going for
Standard edition.

Thanks
