Default Migrating to 11g - 11-15-2007 , 07:23 AM

Hey guys, We are on Oracle 9i and not sure if we will migrate to
Oracle 11g. I am wondering, if any of you folks have upgraded to
Oracle 11G and if so why, or if you are still in the previous version,
why so. Also, wondering, if I am on Oracle 9i - how much incremental
budget will i need to get approval for, if we migrate to Oracle 11g -
assuming all other things being equal.

Right.

Of course, we all have upgraded to 11G by now, and migrated
to either Windows or Linux, and put all other hardware in
the dumpster.

Get a life; how long has 11G been around? Serious shops
have not even finished testing.

I have moved one small app to 11gR1 but it is non-critical and is
working just fine. Everything else will be migrated, based on some
serious testing cycles, in 2008 if no issues warrant holding back.

Right now 11gR1 looks a solid, or slightly more so than did the
initial release to 10.2.0.1 so let that be your guide.

This should not get a habit - replying to myself, that is

Anyway - other flavors were released, I saw yesterday.
So hurry up! You can be migrated before Monday!
