Default Creating a parent role - 05-27-2006 , 08:26 PM

Hi, how do I create a parent role?
I know the 'CREATE ROLE' command, but is there any separate command to
create a parent role?
Pls. let me know.
Thanks.

Cheers,
San.

:

roles is roles

a 'parent role' is not a standard concept -- sounds like it might be
referring to a role that has other roles granted to it

can you provide a little more context as to what you're trying to
accomplish?

Thanks Mark.
I think you have already answered my question.
I was told to create two roles ROLE1 and ROLE2.
ROLE1 should be a parent role of ROLE2 since it is a superset of the
privileges of ROLE2.
I thought that there would be a separate SQL for create ROLE1 as a parent
role.

Cheers,
San.
