Position: Senior Oracle DBA
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6 months

Will have a face to face interview after an initial phone screen

Required Skills
1. Technical four year degree, preferably in Math, Computer Science
or Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Deep knowledge of Oracle internals and administration.
3. Experience with major Oracle upgrades for complex applications.
4. Minimum of five years of Oracle database administration in
production environment.
5. Experience maintaining databases in segregated development, test
and production environments.
6. Experience implementing Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
7. Product Installation, release maintenance, creation of devices
and server configuration.
8. Troubleshooting and monitoring using Oracle and/or third party
tools.
9. Performance tuning of applications and capacity planning.
10. Proven ability to develop scripts to automate frequent
administration tasks.
11. Account management.
12. Coding of stored procedure and triggers.
13. Experience working on UNIX and NT platforms.
14. Ability to work in a team of people with diverse international
cultural background
15. Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
16. Proficient programming in a scripting language such as Korn, C
shell or Perl.

Desired Skills
1. Familiarity with Middle tier environments a plus.
2. ORACLE DBA certification in 10g/11g from ORACLE Corporation
3. Experience in ORACLE application server administration
4. Experience in Oracle RAC / ASM technologies
5. Experience with Version control software is plus
6. Experience with Sybase or MS SQL Server a plus.
7. Experience with ETL tools like Informatica
8. Exposure to BI tools like COGNOS
9. IBM MQ Series server administration

The resource should be a quick learner with strong system / database
administration principles acquired through a work experience of
minimum of 8 years, five of which should be administering ORACLE
database Servers.

The experience should be in medium/large organizations having
segregated development, test, and production environments.
