We're looking for senior technologists who have experience with
multi-tier systems and who can do some combination of architect,
design, implement, debug, test, support. The kind of person who can
wear multiple hats and contribute at several levels - just what a
startup really needs as it takes product to market. The recent hires
can do "heads-down" programming in the core of our SW and all have
strong customer-facing skills (verbal, presentation), as well. They
can come from the engineering part of the organization or from the
professional services part. We need both.
The specs are: (1) hands-on designer/programmer, (2) production
database experience, (3) enterprise SW product experience, (4)
results-oriented. We need C++ most, but could take strong Java or C,
as well, if it's a good database background.
There are about five customers right now who are setting up
multi-Terabyte databases on hardware they purchased just to run SRD's
products-
hardware that cost more than $3M each! So, for database heavies, this
is pushing the bleeding edge and we have every reason to expect this
will continue. We do tightly-coupled and also massively parallel
scaling. Lots of tuning to get the system to feed in real-time from
hundreds of sources and handle up to 30M transactions/day. We
integrate with Siebel, ePiphany, SAS, DCTM, Peoplesoft, others so
folks with such experience are good candidates, but it's better if
someone has worked with two or more of these than someone who has just
worked with one single ERP/CRM system for years.
Also, we're on Wintel/SQL and on Solaris/Oracle 9i but we're about
to announce a deal with IBM and will be doing large AIX/DB2 systems by
Q3. Multi-platform experience is a real plus. |
