Company in Chicago, Illinois area (west suburb) needs a person with
COmbined Oracle DBA and HPUX and SAP Basis Administrator experience
to join its' IT staff. ( MUST have all 3 skills)

*Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares cross-functional department project plans and coordinates the
implementation of software for database, central instance, and
application servers for the SAP environment. Includes scope analysis,
defining tasks, timelines and resource identification. Prepares cross-
functional department project plans and coordinates the implementation
of hardware deployment strategies. Provides expert level diagnosis and
correction of system problems. Develops problem diagnosis and
correction documents. Develops system performance monitors and
diagnoses system performance problems. Develops performance
improvement roadmap. Oversees the SAP database environment. Designs
and manages the Oracle structure location, archiving and back up
process. Conducts continual database and server capacity planning
exercises. Develops processes for projecting database growth to plan
and meet future requirements. Develops, tests and executes processes
for recovering the database in the event of corruption. Makes
recommendations to avoid and prevent system problems. Assists in
systems and services disaster recovery planning and testing of
procedures. Executes the disaster recovery plan as directed by
management. Coordinates with the Operating System group to configure
approved Unix settings according to SAP guidelines. Designs and
creates shell scripts to manage the SAP system. Provides system
support including answering user questions, satisfying miscellaneous
requests, and conferring with co-workers to determine impact of
changes. Mentors Basis Administrators and Analysts. Performs the
responsibilities of Basis Administrators and Analysts when required.
Supports TQM program by following approved policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

*Requirements:
-Bachelors Degree in CS or related field...or equivalent work
experience.
-5+ years SAP experience\ 3+ years SAP BASIS administration experience
-Expertise in Oracle database administration
· Advanced PC skills: word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation
software
· Microsoft project
· Basic Unix Administration commands and shell scripting
· Possible international travel
· Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Preferred: 5+ years HP SAP BASIS administration experience
