Position ------------ Senior/Team Lead Developer Location ------------ Vancouver Job Description ----------------------- - Junior or Senior Developer with the full life cycle of development (Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Documentation, Implementation, and Support). - Create, update, review and/or contribute on System Design Specifications, Technical Design Specifications, User Requirement Documents, and Service Request Documents. - Produce work products (such as reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, pc-based and web applications, technical & user documentation) in one or more of Microsoft, Oracle, and/or Open Source technologies. - Excellent interpersonal & business skills are essential. - Senior Developers will be expected to mentor junior staff and possible lead projects and deal directly with clients. - Administrative duties: enter timesheet into our Service Request System. Skills Required -------------------- - B.Sc. (Computer Science) or Similar Discipline with 5 years experience - Five (5) years programming experience in the following technology stacks: * Microsoft (Visual Basic, Access, ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL, IIS) * Oracle (PL/SQL, Oracle Forms/Reports Developer, Oracle 8, 9i, or 10g) * LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) - Strong Leadership, Business, and Interpersonal Skills - Able to deal directly with Management Level and Executives to gather business requirements, communicate progress, issue and change management. - Familiar with Windows NT, Linux and/or UNIX Environments for Development - Knowledge of Internet Services such as FTP, SMTP, Telnet, DNS, and VPN - Eager to learn / open to learning other areas of expertise such as, but not limited to, Microsoft, Oracle, and Open Source - Excellent Work Ethic - Works well with others and a team player - Good communications skills (writing and oral) Assets ---------- - Microsoft or Oracle Certification - Exposure to Financial Systems such as Oracle e-Business, Sage Simply Accounting or ACCPAC - Bilingual (French and English) - Previous Consulting or Freelance work experience - Previous Experience with Airline Reservations & e-commerce transactions Benefits ------------- - Three weeks paid vacation annually. - Sick Leave (Up to 20 days accumulated at 1 day per month). - Comprehensive MSP, Extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan (no waiting period) - Variable Pay (bonus salary on extra revenue generated above your annual goal set annually).
