Hi, I've set up the XMLA 1.1 beta on IIS and was wondering if there's any way to now get the SOAP responses into Excel? The users here really need a way to connect to Analysis Services through firewalls and this seemed like a good way of doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If your goal is to connect from Excel to Analysis Services through firewalls - then you will be better off by using HTTP connectivity feature of Analysis Services. It will work with Excel PivotTables as well as with any Excel Add-In product. |

Hi Martin, Digital Aspects (my employer) has a provider which works with Excel pivot tables and Excel Add-ins but uses XMLA. It works through firewalls and may be what you are looking for. It is also efficient on bandwidth as it works with HTTP compression. A free evaluation is available here http://www.digitalaspects.com/xmlatoodbo.php HTH Robin |
