Default wandering if anyone know this is true. - 09-11-2003 , 02:53 PM

Anybody knows if Essbase XTD deployment Services Release 6.5.3
supports XMLA, I am getting very fraustrate with all the documents and
articles flying around claiming that Hyperion and Microsoft join the
force of publishing XMLA and mdXML as linguistic interface for
discover and execute the OLAP server. It really makes me think of that
both of their product support XMLA and mdXML through SOAP.

I know MSAS supports XMLA but how about Hyperions? I read following
article on Essbase.com but I can't find any technical paper that says
anything about XMLA/mdXML through SOAP. thanks in advance

Essbase XTD Deployment Services Release 6.5.3
Hyperion is pleased to announce Essbase® XTD Deployment Services
Release 6.5.3, a key component of Hyperion Essbase XTD, Hyperion's
business intelligence platform for business performance management.

Deployment Services enables businesses to easily create and manage
large, web based deployments of business performance management
applications, while maintaining a low cost of ownership. The
architecture is designed to be compliant with all major web standards
such as J2EE, .NET, XMLA and Web Services. Business performance
management users benefit from fast, consistent query response times
and high application availability from anywhere in the extended
enterprise.

» Connection Pooling - Enables client requests to share database
connections, which improves query response times and conserves
software, server and network resources.
» High Availability - Enables the creation of an Essbase XTD Analysis
Services cluster that serve as a single data source for applications,
increasing the availability of analytic data for end user queries. For
example, applications can continue to service requests with no user
impact when one or more servers within the cluster fails or is taken
off-line for update.
» Web Optimized - Supports scalable web deployments and can extend
seamlessly to the entire extended enterprise. Complements Developer
Workbench and Analysis Studio by providing the underlying J2EE based
foundation and a full set of Java APIs.
» Horizontal Scalability - Enables the creation of an Essbase XTD
Analysis Services cluster that serve as a single data source for
applications allowing end user requests to be distributed across
multiple physical machines, increasing user scalability and ensuring
consistent query response times.

Essbase XTD Deployment Services 6.5.3 is a maintenance release
focusing on increasing performance and stability of the product. For
details on specific bug fixes, please refer to the product release
notes.
